Liability – Bodily Injury and Property Damage
Covers damage you may cause to other people’s property or bodies in an accident. Minimum limits allowed by the state to satisfy financial responsibility requirements are $15,000 per person & $30,000 per accident (bodily injury) $5,000 property damage.
Sold in increments of thousands - $1,000 (minimum) to $25,000. Covers medical expenses incurred by you and your passengers in an accident. Not intended for major medical coverage. (Optional Coverage)
Minimum coverage allowed is $15,000 per person and $30,000 per accident. It is usually sold in the same limits as liability. It protects you medically in the event of an accident with an uninsured motorist which results in injury to you. You can collect form your own company. This is particularly important in the case of a hit and run driver. You may claim on this coverage if you are injured by an uninsured motorist while driving or while riding a bicycle or walking. (Optional Coverage)
Comprehensive (Other than Collision)
Covers your own auto for fire, theft, vandalism, flood, wind damage, broken glass, etc. Any property damage not involving a collision. Usually written with a deductible of $0 to $1,000. (Optional Coverage)
Covers your auto involved in a collision. Usually written with a deductible of $0 to $1,000 (Optional Coverage)
Written on auto policy to cover rental care reimbursement, if your auto is in the shop as a result of a collision. Maximum on most policies is 30 days or $900
